In early 2017 four community hospice rooms were opened, known as the Hospice Cottage at Yucalta Lodge. The private rooms, operated by Island Health, offer a warm and inviting space, including a family area with separate entrance and outdoor patio. Campbell River Hospice Society trained Volunteers are members of the team supporting those at end of life and their loved ones, wherever home may be. Hospice Volunteer services include vigil support, caregiver support, bereavement counselling and grief support.
