Healthy Beginnings Program
Home visits and feeding support during the initial postpartum period provided by obstetrically trained registered nurses and lactation consultants. Twice weekly breastfeeding clinic offers variety of breastfeeding supports for various ages.
Healthy Beginnings is a part of perinatal services provided at the Campbell River & District General Hospital.
Our obstetrically trained nurses follow mums and babes for generally the first five days of life for people using maternity services in the Campbell River area.
We provide support for babies with jaundice by offering home phototherapy including jaundice treatment in our client’s homes as needed, and offering ongoing feeding support.
We provide supports for clients who use substances during pregnancy, those who are in recovery, and clients on Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT).
We are very proud to facilitate a breastfeeding clinic, by appointment on Tuesdays and Friday afternoons for breastfeeding mums and babies of all ages.
