180° Detox and Stabilization
For youth aged 13 to 19 who would like voluntary detox and stabilization services. Youth stay in carefully screened John Howard family carehomes. Stabilization involves attending our structured day program where youth may participate in school, counselling, recreation, and/or life skills activities.
Youth can self-refer, or be referred by family, social workers, or other community agencies. The stabilization period may last up to 6 months and will typically involve the youth gradually accessing more activities in the community.
Program counsellors work with the youth to set goals of what they want to work on while in the program. Education, harm reduction, and goal maintenance (relapse prevention) are emphasized.
