Rod Chant Counselling

Rod Chant MSW RSW RCC is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 18 years experience working in a variety of positions as a clinical counsellor including clinical supervisor, agency co-owner (largest in Southern Alberta) and private practitioner. He has experience working with individuals, couples and familes in such diverse situations/areas as: court ordered offenders; Youth Forensics; Adult, Child and Youth Mental Health, children of divorce, as well as facilitating many youth and adult psycho-educational group programs. Specific treatment/healing focus can include domestic violence, victims of crime, couples and marriage counselling, emotional management (anger, anxiety, depression), critical and chronic health issues, addictions, stress management, grief and loss, workplace stress and life transitions. Rod is also a First Nations Service Provider through Aboriginal Health Canada.

Some of Rod's clinical tools and treatment modalities include cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, family systems, Emotional Freedom Technique and Mindfulness practises.

Rod's approach is one that begins with a respectful relationship building, moves into establishing client needs and goals, to facilitating a process of empowering personal growth through self-reflection, new insights and skill sets. His approach also respectfully allows room for personal values and systems of belief, and draws from and allows to flourish one's sense of self and purpose.

Rod's personal life circumstances has given him the knowledge and experience to both advocate for and support those in the throes of critical health issues, or still grasping the ramifications of having chronic health conditions.
