Collaborative Planning Program
When a family is involved with the Ministry for Children and Family Development it can feel overwhelming. Our worker tries to help with this by being a neutral facilitator for meetings between families and the ministry. We try to make sure that meetings stay focussed on what’s important, that everyone feels safe and respected, and that everyone feels their voice is heard. Another goal is to get parents, extended family and young people involved in decisions that affect them. Our referrals come mostly from MCFD, but families and youth may also ask for our help.
We also support youth who are aging out of foster care get ready for living more independently.
