Programs Offered
Aboriginal Education
School District 72 offers opportunities for Aboriginal students to enhance their Aboriginal identity through language and culture programs. Aboriginal Kindergarten is also available. For more information, contact Greg Johnson, district principal of Aboriginal education at (250) 830-2330.
French Immersion
French Immersion is the delivery of the regular BC school curriculum in the French language. It enables students to become functionally bilingual. School District 72 offers both early and late French Immersion programs. For more information, contact Nevenka Fair, Director of Institutional Programs at (250) 830-2339.
eBlend: A home-schooling program
The eBlend program offers learning opportunities and support for parents and students to help them develop an effective home-schooling program. The eBlend program offers services including in-school support, weekly interactive days, online courses, and personal contact with teachers. Career Programs
School District 72's career programs offer students an opportunity to transfer their school skills into the workplace. Available opportunities include: work experience, career preparation, cooperative education, and secondary school apprenticeships. Student Services

Summer Programs
School District 72 offers a variety of classes to help students upgrade their marks and further develop their academic and cultural interests. For more information on Summer School, contact the school board office at (250) 830-2300.
Alternate Programs
Elm Alternate School offers young people aged 15-19 an opportunity to obtain a Grade 10 or Grade 12 equivalency certificate, or a high school diploma. Elm Alternate School offers flexible programming; students may start at any time during the school year and leave when they have completed the program. AVID: Advancement via Individual Determination
AVID offers students who are academically "in the middle" an opportunity to develop skills that will help them succeed academically. The AVID class occurs during the regular school time table and is supported by college or senior student tutors. Continuing Education
The Continuing Education program is open to adults who wish to upgrade skills, improve basic literacy, complete a high school diploma, or meet prerequisites for post-secondary programs. For more information on Continuing Education, contact the office at (250) 923-4918.
International Program

StrongStart Center
To support parents in this important role by providing a free, drop-in, early learning program for young children from birth to Kindergarten and their parents or caregivers. Under the direction of licensed early childhood educators, parents and children participate in early learning activities, such as story time, music, singing, art, and puzzles.
