North Island Employment Foundations Society - (NIEFS)

Serving Unemployed Canadians who reside in Campbell River or on the North Island including: Aboriginal peoples, immigrants, persons with disabilities, rural and remote populations, multi-barriered individuals, survivors of violence and/or abuse, and youth. NIEFS also assists employers find the right people, with the right skills at the right time.

Job Seeker Assistance

• Employment services that assist North Islanders to develop a plan, the skills and supports they need to get back to work or enter the workforce.
• A range of employment related workshops.
• Drop-in Work Support Centre, labour market information, Internet computer lab and resource library.
• Assistance with attaining work experience and/or training supports for eligible clients.
• Online employment services for rural and remote communities on North Vancouver Island.
• Small Business & Employee Training incentive program
• Wage subsidies for eligible clients

Employer Assistance

• Our aim is to connect employers to the right workers, with the right skills, when they are needed. NIEFS offers a full suite of employer services including:
• Job Postings available on our website, local TV, and in our employment center.
• Hosting Hiring/Career Fairs and Employer Forums.
• Confidential resume collection service.
• Private office space for interviews and/or meetings.
• Labour market information and resources.
• Targeted Skills Shortage Program (TSSP) for eligible employers and employees.
