Quadra Circle Community Connections Society

Quadra Circle is a non-profit organization composed of Islanders aged 55 and over, who wants to enrich our community, their own lives, and especially the lives of seniors, though social, educational and service activities.

We encourage friendship, fun, lifelong learning and mutual support as well as fostering the development of services and facilities to meet the changing needs of Islanders, particularly as our population ages. MEMBERSHIP is free and is not a requirement to participate in our programs.

Since our services are provided by volunteers, we are grateful for the donations from individuals and community groups on Quadra and grants from: Coastal Community Credit Union, Strathcona Regional District and Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

What we do:

  • Link people to services and information, such as local home maintenance and personal care businesses, social activities, government services for seniors, wills and estate planning, etc.
  • Find volunteers for groups and events such as Quadra Circle programs, Fall Fair, Children's Centre, the School, Trails Committee, ESS, Quadra Recreation Centre
  • Help people who want to volunteer to learn what is available on Quadra
  • Match and monitor volunteers so they enjoy their experience
  • Link volunteers with training such as Senior Peer Visiting

Seniors Outreach Program:

Our aim is to reach out to support seniors and enhance their quality of life by informing them of services available and assisting them to access these services. Younger senior volunteers are trained in Senior Peer Support, so that they can visit frail or isolated seniors, take them to activities and events and help them with completion of government forms or getting the services they need.

This service is also available to those coping with chronic physical or mental health concerns, living alone or feeling isolated by their illness or lack of transportation. The service provides some respite time for their families. This support allows seniors to stay in their own homes in safety and to connect with their community. Our clients look forward to the volunteer visitors and the chance to talk, play a game, share an interest or go out for a change of scenery. Call Karen 250-285-3064
