Alzheimer Society of BC

The Alzheimer Society of BC exists to alleviate personal and social consequences of Alzheimer disease and related dementias, to promote public awareness and to search for the causes and cures.

Serves caregivers, family and friends of people with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia.

Family Caregiver Series Workshop - August 2019

Patricipants will learn strategies for taking care of someone with dementia, as well as taking care of their own health.

Topics include:
  • understanding Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
  • effective and creative ways of facilitating communication with a person with dementia
  • understanding behaviour as a form of communication
  • self-care for the caregiver
  • planning for the future
